A New Beginning

In a few hours, we are going to say goodbye to 2009 and hello to 2010. I don't know if it's only me who see 2009 to be a year of catastrophe, controversies, and brutality. We have also lost important people that we Filipinos look up to. To name a few events that took place in our country are the typhoons Ondoy, Pepeng leaving us with thousands of families homeless. There’s also the threat of AH1N1 at the start of 2009. The Maguindanao massacre which shock us of how brutality has been happening for many years in Mindanao. There are also the controversies of sex video scandal. The death of former President Corazon Aquino. The sea tragedy of Catalyn-B with the metal-hulled fishing vessel Anatalya off Limbones Island in Cavite before dawn of December 24. And lastly, the Mayon Volcano who has shown activity and is about to erupt on the coming days.

With all these, how can we ever rise up again as a nation? It feels like we’re being buried deeper and deeper and there’s no way up. But I believe there’s always HOPE. We can still do this! We just have to do our part as a FILIPINO.

I know it’s easier said than done. I think NOW is the right time to move! Especially that a new year is about to unfold. And in 2010 here are some of the things I pray for our country:

*I wish that we have a peaceful election on May 2010 and that whoever deserves to be in their respected position, be elected and DO their part for our people!

*I pray that the Maguindanao massacre be resolved AND brutality like that won’t happen again.

*I wish that all who have been a victim of natural calamity and all suffering would finally get a grip and have a fresh start in their lives

*I wish that we all unite towards a common goal that is “NO Filipino would be left behind.” That we all have the right to a good quality life. That we all have the right to get an education. That we all have a freedom to voice our opinion. And that we all have a responsibility to look after our brothers and sister.

I really hope we have a prosperous new year. HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone!

Online Blogging

I started blogging in my Friendster account and unexpectedly it becomes a productive diversion for me. Like now, when I have nothing left to do here at work. Instead of just playing Farmville or Restaurant City, I can write stuff that I hope would inspire my fellow Filipinos.

I maintain another blog which contains personal stories about myself. But this blog is where I get to talk about the outside world. The world as I know it. I’m not that patriotic but I do care with our country. What is happening to us? Too much violence, too much pollution, too much immorality, it’s just too much. I’m not saying I’m perfect! If I can help by writing it, I’ll willingly do so.

This blog is also my way of earning extra money through PTC or Pay To Click. With just a click, I’ll be earning money. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that fancy. Its just small amount, but hey! When you’re not that busy at work you have to think of ways to make it fruitful.

You see! There’s a lot to blogging than what we gave it credit for! :)

STOP Complaining

-->
* A friend of mine sent this email and somewhere in my self-centered mind, I am embarrassed. I’m one of those people who would always complain when things don't go my way. I’m the type of person to seek for someone or something to blame when things get out of hand. Tsk tsk. I know I’m pathetic. It’s easy to not care when you’re drown with your own selfishness.  I wish this message would touch everyone’s heart as it has touched mine. Just be thankful with what you have. And STOP complaining!

If you think you are unhappy, look at them

If you think your salary is low, how about her?

If you think you don't have many friends...

When you feel like giving up, think of this man

If you think you suffer in life, do you suffer as much as he does?

If you complain about your transport system, how about them?

If your society is unfair to you, how about her?

Enjoy life how it is and as it comes
Things are worse for others and is a lot better for us.
There are many things in your life that will catch your eye but only a few will catch your heart....pursue those...

malate

Malate is a cool place to be. Lots of things to do. From the resto to the bar to the spas and the casinos. It is really a perfect place to unwind. It is my first time there. I must say I'm not use to partying but I enjoyed my time there. But amidst the glitz and glamour is the real Malate. Behind the happy faces is the bitter world of reality. You'll see street children playing in the plaza. Beggars spending the night in the cold cement without the care of cars passing. Girls flaunting their body to the eager customers. What a waste!

Malate is such a nice place. But I wish things would change for the better in that place. So Philippine's tourism would continue to prosper!

the world i know

The world I know is a dark place to be. Full of chaos, suffering, and inequality. Where have all the compassion go? It’s just sad when you see street children begging for money, while rich people have things they don’t even need. If we would know how to share, no single human being would be left behind with nothing.

The world I know today is different from the world we have back on earlier years. It’s obvious when you see old pictures of how clean our environment was. But I still believe, one day everything would be better. Let us unite to this goal because no one can save our planet but us. I just pray it won’t be too late….
