Travel Safe

Next week, Lenten season would begin. It would start on Palm Sunday. But we're making Holy Week advance because tomorrow, Saturday, we are going to Our Lady of Manaoag at Pangasinan. And to have a safe trip, everyone should remember this tips to avoid accidents and check if everything are in good conditions:

B - Brakes
L - Lights
O - Oil
W - Water
B - Battery
A - Air pressure
G - Gasoline
E - Engine
T - Tire
S - Self

Check if the brakes are properly working.
Make sure the lights are still working especially in travelling at night.
Check if the motor oil is enough for your engine to function well.
Don't forget to bring water to avoid overheating of the engines. (And mineral water for the passengers to drink!)
Check if the battery is still working efficiently or if it is needed to changed for your car to function better.
Air for tire. Check if the tires have enough air to avoid accidents.
Gasoline, make sure you have a full tank or at least there's enough to keep the vehicle running.
Make sure the tires are in good conditions. It is a must especially when you are travelling in a very far places.
And the most important is the self or it means the driver. They say the passengers lives are in a drivers hand. Just make sure they are alert, they are not sleepy, not drunk, not sick and not in a bad condition. And of course they should be disciplined and know how to follow the traffic rules!

Remember: BLOWBAGETS! Hope this help especially to everyone who is planning a trip this Holy Week! Travel Safe!

The Writer In Me

Now that it's vacation time again and school time is over, I am looking for alternatives on how to earn money. It's hard when you have limitations and I have to consider my son. I can't leave home that long so my choices are few. So far I still have a tutor job which is only one hour per day. I also have PTC or paid to click such as Clicksia and LinkGrand. But it is really not enough even if I click everyday. If only more people would sign up with me as their referral, maybe that would help a little. My college friend and fellow blogger, Daisy is a living proof that it is possible to earn money in blogging. I wish I could be as successful as she is in her online venture. I asked for advice and she said I should sign up to SocialSpark. But my blog needs to have atleast 100 views a day! And that my entries should be something searchable so my blog traffic would increase. Boy that was hard! I can only write personal staff. I am good at writing down my emotions or opinions. But to write something helpful or something that web surfers would search, I am really not good at that. I am a frustrated writer to be honest. That's why I envy and idolize writers. All sort of them. Novelist, Songwriters, Bloggers, Movie writers. I idolize them all. How they weave a story (fiction or non fiction) and how they capture the readers imagination and bring them in a place they've never been before. A good writer makes you believe the unbelievable. A good writer writes essential things. And that's what I need to do: write something worth READING!

Oh well, at least I can try. I will try my very best to write at least once a week here. I will try to squeeze more creative juice in my brain. I will try to write something positive and informative. I WILL, I promised! :)

Oreo Polvoron

Ingredients:
1 cup flour, toasted
2 cup powdered milk
1 cup sugar
¾ cup melted butter
¼ cup oreo, crushed

Directions:

1.  Combine all the ingredients and mix well.
2.  Use polvoron mold to shape it into round or oval.
3.  Wrap in cellophane or japanese paper.

NOTE:
You can also try something new with your polvoron by coating it with chocolate. Just be sure you have lots of patience (which I ran out when I did this) because it can be a little messy and hard to do. You just need half a block of chocolate and melt it using a double boiler or microwave oven. Coat the polvoron. Then cool it in the ref. Goodluck!
