A Mother's Story

Last night I saw the trailer of A Mother's Story, a film by Star Cinema and starred by the comedienne Pokwang. As soon as it caught my attention, my eyes started to warm up. We all have mothers. I am a mother myself. And a story about a mother's sacrifices is just tear jerking! Mother's will do everything and anything for the sake of their children. Even at the cost of working abroad and leaving their beloved children. The worst part is, some people don't understand it and judged them to be a bad mother.

It is showing on January 8, and I badly want to watch it together with my mom! My mother sacrifices everything for us. She works hard every day and until now that I have my son, her love and support is undeniable. My siblings and I love her so much! And I want to treat her because it's her birthday on the 17th :) The problem is who will take care of my son. And if I can bear to leave him with someone other than my mother (she's the only one I trust with regards to Riley). If only he is tame enough to bring in the cinema house (oh yeah tame is the word!) but it wouldn't be a good idea at all.

Well, lets see what happens. But I definitely think that this movie is worth watching for. Just watch the trailer you'll agree. *Sniff

2 tbsp plain flour
2 cups milk
125g mozzarella or cheddar cheese

Meat Sauce
Heat oil in a saucepan.
Add onion, carrot, and garlic, cook until soft.
Add beef mince, cook until brown. Stir in tomato paste, canned tomatoes, and chicken stock.
Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
Cover and cook gently 20 minutes.

Cheese Sauce
Melt butter in a separate saucepan, stir in flour and cook for 2 minutes over gentle heat.
Remove from the heat, stir in milk.
Return to heat, stir until thick and smooth.
Season with salt, pepper, and add mozzarella or cheddar cheese, stirring over low heat until cheese melts.

Assembly
1. Preheat oven to 180°C.
2. Pour ½ cup of the meat sauce into a lightly greased baking dish.
3. Alternate layers of lasagna, meat, and cheese sauces, ending with cheese sauce layer (allow for 4 layers).
For perfect lasagna, make sure that lasagna sheets are completely covered with the meat sauce. Important to retain a high level of moisture.
4. Sprinkle with grated parmesan cheese, bake in oven for 35-40 minutes. Or until cooked through (test if cooked by pricking with a fork).
5. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
