Dalagang Filipina to Stylish Me!

When I posted this refashion in my FB account, a college friend of mine commented "Before: Dalagang Filipina After: Modern day and stylish Joyce Ann." Thus the title of this post. :) Well, my friend is not exaggerating. This dress really looks like a Dalagang Filipina look, very old fashioned!

But before I start with any refashioning, I notice big holes in the top part.

Instead of fixing it, I decided to just cut it all! 

Then I start taking in 2 inches on both sides and sew it.

I thought it will be nice if I tried a sweetheart neckline. So that's exactly what I did.

My almost finish dress needed straps and a sash.

Finally, it's ready for a pictorial! I wore it to my cousin's wedding! :)

Perfect for Church Dress

The easiest and simplest refashion you can do to update a dress is to shorten it.

Now I have a dress perfect for church. I wore it for Christmas Eve's mass. :)
